Tips on Decorating Your Boring Walls

Colors and styles can spruce up those bare walls in your home. You just have to be creative enough and bring out smart ideas.

Be extra careful with the colors you pick out. Take a few chips home and see if it works well on your walls.

Choosing the right combination of colors, patterns and textures is the key to creating a good atmosphere. Be sure that it will also blend with the elements inside your home because it may enhance or worsen the looks of your space.

If you do not want to paint your walls because you do not want hassle on your part, there are other ways to add colors to your space like putting colorful curtains or draperies. It is easier and inexpensive.

Hang decorative mirror, it is less expensive and can open up and add light to a small, dark space.

Unique paintings and artworks also bring life to your walls. If you do not have any, you can enlarge a family photo and put in a nice picture frame and just hang them.

Add shelves to add more color to your dull and boring walls. This way you may display your favorite books and anything you want to put on your shelf and do not have to keep them.

Some people likes decorating their home, while there are some who just finds it boring. Try out new effects and decors to make your home attractive and pleasing.

If you are decorating on a budget, try to gather frames in different shapes and sizes then paint it with the same color and hang them on your walls. These decors may be plain, yet it is sophisticated to look at and is much easier and inexpensive.

Avoid putting too much decors; your room could look overwhelming and cramped so keep your accessories and other elements inside your home as simple as you can.

Home Decorating On a Budget

At times, we get tired of the same decors we have at home. Freshen up your home and make it look fabulous without spending too much.

You might want to consider these few tips to add beauty to your home:

To add a dramatic effect to your room, purchase lighting fixture but check the quality before buying the item. Change old lamps with new ones to see the effect in your room, just have to experiment to achieve the look you want. Brightness can also set the tone in the room.

You can surround your home with aromatic candles to bring a romantic ambiance inside your home.

Paint the walls or change the wall colors of your home for a dramatic improvement. Do not forget to also paint your front door and enhance your curb appeal. Pick the color that you like the most since it is your home.

Place cushions and blankets to your couch to make your room feel comfy and cozy.

Enlarge a favorite photo or paintings and put it in a nice frame and hang on your walls. A decorative mirror can also replicate brightness inside your home by putting it opposite your window. This will also make your room look more spacious.

If you have empty shelves, stack books and magazines in it. To add  more life to your home, place a vase with fresh flowers or plants on the table .

Decors at home do not have to be costly. Try to look for unique pieces of accessories in different thrift stores.

Hang curtains or blinds on your windows and scented candles for a more peaceful ambiance.

If your room is cluttered, it would not look attractive  no matter how beautiful the furniture and the accessories. Give away those stuff  that you no longer need, it is only taking up much space and make your room look cramped.

I would also include blinds and shades in overall planning for any home improvement stuffs and decor enhancements… look into it though!

Blind and Shades for Seniors

As we age, we start to notice little things we never noticed before, like how heavy window blinds can be to open and close every day, especially the ones on oversized windows. Because we all deserve window treatments that are easy to operate and look good, we recommend the following blinds.

What are Matchstick Shades?

Matchstick shades or blinds are more commonly known as bamboo shades or woven wood shades or blinds. These are exactly what they sound like, shades woven with wood or grasses, most commonly bamboo, to create a tropical, island feel within a home. They are a great way to bring nature into a dwelling without being overwhelming. The feel of these shades is very light and airy. They are a great compliment to apartments, homes and guesthouses.

SlumberShades

Some of us have a good night's sleep every night, but others of us struggle with light sensitivity from street lamps, or the inability to sleep during the day. Those with night jobs often struggle to get 8 - 10 hours of sleep, the recommended amount of time needed for a good night's sleep, as their bodies are telling them they should be awake with the sun. New shades have hit the market to help resolve this problem. They are called SlumberShades and they block light from windows, using an innovative sidetrack system. According to the National Sleep Foundation, the best night's sleep comes from a dark, quiet, comfortable atmosphere.

Cordless Blinds Remove Risks of Strangulation and Death for Children.

Most parents aren't aware that something as simple as dangling cords from blinds, shades or window treatments can pose a hazard to their child's life. Pets are also at risk of strangulation. The problem is, kids and pets can get their necks caught in these cords or blinds and severe damage or death can result. There are organizations working to spread awareness, however, we feel you can never put out enough information on a topic like this.
